About
The 2026–2027 California recreational spiny lobster season in Orange County runs from Friday, October 2, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. through Wednesday, March 17, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. You may take up to seven spiny lobsters per day under California regulations. — and they are well worth it. California spiny lobster is excellent eating. The Riviera runs the coast from San Clemente to South Laguna for lobster, and we’ll take you to where they typically congregate and time the trip for the best chance at them.
Essentials to Bring:
Saltwater fishing license with Ocean Enhancement endorsement
Lobster card
3¼" lobster gauge
Primary light and a backup
Cyalume / tank marker light
Lobster game bag
2 Tanks, trim weights, food and drinks available on the boat.
Please arrive forty-five minutes early to check in. The boat will leave at 7 P.M. sharp.
Note: Taking Lobster is one of the most fun and rewarding activities to do underwater regardless of how many you may get! Many of our divers limit out while others find it more challenging and may come back with none. The good news is we do offer a California Spiny Lobster Certification Course for those who wish to improve their skill level!
*If lobster fishing isn’t your thing, you’re still welcome aboard — join us for a standard night dive on the Riviera!*
